What color clip , etc

I can't match pants to shirts.......I admit it[:I]
The hardest thing for me to do is match clips,etc. to different
woods. My kids have to dress me. What color clips would go well
with birdeye maple. I realize this is only in the eyes of the
beholder, but any suggestions would help. LOL....I'm finishing
up a cigar pen.

IMHO, gold looks nice with most woods, and especially something gold-toned like maple.

I agree with Jim as far as gold being good for most woods. However, if you want the wood to stand out, the a black finish makes a great contrast. There is a b-eye maple cigar on today's forum, it has some black w/ chrome. At least soemthing to see the contrast. Another idea is to let the MRS & kids see it and let them choose.

I usually let the kids pick out the clips, etc. but no one is around
today. Just curious though...What types of woods would go well with
chrome or silver ?

OF COURSE, I have to be a bit different... on my Barons and Jr Gents I usually prefer the Platinum or Sterling plate for most of my woods... and the Black TN comes in second...
On most of my ballpoints the first choice is TN Gold with Chrome coming in second...

I also do some gold FPs but for some reason the Platinum platings just look better to me.. except maybe on walnut, but I don't do much walnut...
