What are these?

Can anyone identify these? they were in with some PSI YoYo kits I got from another person but they don't look like part of the Ball Bearing Yo-Yo Kits, they look like a completely separate item...

I've never done YOYO's, but it looks like the string of course and the little metal things look like they might be the shaft (for lack of a better word) that goes between the two halves of the YOYO... the round things look like nuts of something...
