What exactly is micromesh?

Is it reuseable?
How does it work?
Can it replace sandpaper?
Is it more or less cost effective than sandpaper?

I would like y'alls opinion of how well it works and what you do or don't like about it.

Thanks in advance.

Is it reuseable? YES, it can be washed and my first set lasted almost a year.

How does it work? Some may argue but it is sandpaper as far as I am concerned. The finer grit is so fine that it basically polishes though.

Can it replace sandpaper? Yes and no. It cannot replace the rougher ones but yes on the finer ones (400 grit and up).

Is it more or less cost effective than sandpaper? Again, it is on a league of its own. But it is very cost effective and if you buy some, it is money well spent. Check Tangboy5000 ( http://www.woodchipshome.com/ )...I think he has the best price around.

Everything everyone else said. It was by the far the best recommendation I got at Woodcraft in Bloomington, MN when I bought my very first stuff to make pens.

Chceck it out here: http://www.sisweb.com/micromesh/

I use it on all pens, first on the wood, then on my finish of choice...oh yea, that would be boiled linseed oil and CA.
Do a good turn daily!
