I was playing around with a slim line kit today that I screwed up a couple of weeks ago. Half the bottom blank blew apart. I glued a piece of the same material back on and set it aside. I remembered it today, looked it over and decided it wasn't good enough to make a pen out of. But, it was good enough to play with finishing techniques.
I turned it to size, sanded, ca'd as usual, hit it with abranet, then instead of going straight to the stick fast polish, I decided to try out mm.
Wow! I went through the grits all the way to 12000 and put some finishing wax on it. It is every bit as shiny and glass like as the acrylic pens I am turning.
Wood is teak. (I have a bunch of it so I use it as practice wood for pens).
