I made this pen this weekend, as I had the urge to incorporate some wood into my pens. I used to do it quite a bit, but have deviated more towards acrylic/alumilite/cellulose only pens lately. I love wenge, and picked up some nice stabilized blanks recently, so I figured I'd use some. I built the pen from a burgundy alumilite resin, and sleeved the barrel in wenge. I ended up using resin for the cap, due on to the structural challenge of sleeving a cap in wood and trying to taper it, however I did set a disc of wenge in the end of the cap to tie the barrel and cap together. I fabricated the bands and hardware from argentium, and the pen uses a jowo nib.

I like it !!

The cap end-button (cabochon) really unifies the whole pen ... nicely done !

Love the grain of the wenge married to the swirled resin. The argentinium ties it all up beautifully, nice work.
