I took advantage of a NY cocobolo special from John M. Gerst. A carefully selected blank from his box became part of my first Navigator roller ball.

Another Jim, (Heusinger-Berea owner) once said to me, "Yep when we put out a new pen, I just grab a stick of cocobolo, make a pen and take pictures!!"

I think YOU have discovered his secret!!!

What is your finish?? Looks good!

Looks nice! Cocobolo (in my opinion) is a nice, classic wood for pens. Also, I find that even if there isn't much figure in a piece of cocobolo, it still looks good!

Great looking pen. Congratulations of a fine fit and finish. I have never turned any Cocobolo, looks like I am going to give it a whirl.

Finish is my standard - Walmart CA. Sanded to 400 first then enough coats to look right - 7 this time, then micromesh, HUT polish, and Ren wax. There's nothing special about Walmart except low prices for small tubes of CA that fits my low volume occasional style of production.
