Here's one that's driving me nuts!

My CAT pressure pot is driving me up the wall, but I finally have it leakless now that I've capped off the pressure relief valve:eek:. Stupid worthless thing.

Anyway, now I have a new issue. The lid gasket or seal or whatever you call it is too loose or something. Every time I lift the lid and turn it over to put it on the tank, the seal pops out. It's very difficult to hold it well enough to get a good seal.

Is there anything I can do to stick it up in the lid securely? Can I glue it or calk it or something?

Thanks.

I'll try vaseline tonight. I had silicon grease on it, but I figured it might be making the seal to slippery, so cleaned it off, but it didn't help.

Oh, and just so this doesn't sound too much like I'm bashing that particular pressure pot, I'd buy another:biggrin:. The issues I've had sealing it up are nothing I haven't dealt with before on my other two pots - a cheapy and a Binks. Everything drives me nuts because I'm not a tinkerer of machinery by nature.

Things I don't like about it - the seal obviously, but that may be fixed. The pressure relief valve is junk and leaked weeeeelll below the 80lbs working pressure.

THings I do like - it is drilled for wheels, but I'm going to put feet on it. That'll allow me to level it for my slopey garage floor. Flat bottom inside. Nice and big inside. More room than my Binks. Built very sturdy with nice big wing nuts and washers to hold the lid down.
