Just a few pens I turned this last weekend. I'm still in search for the perfect pen, each one of these a a flaw of some sort. I'll keep turning until I can consistantly get it right.

Purpleheart modified Euro with Yellowheart and Bloodwood CB and veneer accents -

This one is going as a gift to a Purple Heart decorated VietNam vet.

Bias cut Lacewood fancy Slimline -

Redbud modified SL with Ebony and holly CB and a poor attempt a wire burning -

And finally a Kingwood Classic American with the CB replaced by one from a Euro kit -

Dave, they look great, good photography and I like the CB on the flat top. BTW, I am convinced there is no such thing as a "perfect pen", (but we keep trying [:)] )

Very nice yellowheart. There all nice for that matter.

How are you setting up your lights for the photography? I am attempting to photograph some of my pens and the shadows are horrible.

I have a little photo cube with light diffusing fabric on the sides. I set my lights at about 30° to the side of the cube. The lights are 50 watt halogen.

Thanks for everyones kind comments. I was expecting some grief on the darkness of the end grain on my lighter colored CB wood. For the life of me I can't get the Holly or Yellowheart to have consistant color all the way around.
Anybody have any suggestions to help that issue?
