Cap: 2.25, dia .70
Barrell: 2.85, dia .62
Cap/Barrell threads: M14x.8 TLD
#6 Bock nib

And now for the bad news, I mis-measured the depth of the cap hole and the cap will not screw on with the section and nib in place. :-( Need to plan a save. Lesson learned: **ALWAYS** test fit, which I normally do.

Do a good turn daily!

Nice color combination in that blank. Eyeballing from your first picture, and depending on how much space you need to get back, you might be able to shorten the section.

A yellow brass spacer band? Or aluminum or silver?

Love those colors!
Thanks. One solution: a rollerball. I found this rollerball section that is just the fit.

The fountain pen section is just under 1/4 inch too long.

I have made rollerball sections and I do have enough material to make one.

I'm not versed in kitless pen making, but I wonder if it would be possible to thread the section a little deeper so it will screw in further? (I hope what I mean comes across making sense.)

Makes sense but will not work. The barrel threads + the section + the exposed nib is longer than the cap itself. I think having it as a rollerball is the best solution for this pen.
