Looking for suggestions on a decent (and easy) web design software that won't empty my wallet (gotta buy gas too ).

Mainly looking for SW to start the wifes jewelry site first, so it going to be hosted on windows (she doesn't know linux), and I don't think she going to generate enough $$ at first to justify paying a monthly cart cost, so I figured I would just plug in paypal buttons, so it's gotta have some kind of ecommerce plugin for paypal.

I was looking at web easy pro 8 looks easy enough that I think she could do the updating and redesign without me having to do everything for her.

You all have any suggestions? Pros Cons?

Thanks
Danny

weeby.com is free can look at my site posted at bottom of page and link from it to weebly to start your own. Easy to use and adding photos is pretty easy. it can be linked to paypal and google with a little work. and it always gice the option to publish to Facebook when you update it. If you want to pay for the pro service its about 40 a yr I think. I am not paying for it as of yet.

Nice looking Site Phil. I have been looking at doing a site. I might consider using weeby after seeing your site. I already have a domain name. Is there anyway to use your own domian name and link it to weebly?

I am not sure about linking a domain, but they tell you if yours is available when you create it. They have a good size Q&A section to answer things like that. I did most of the set-up in a couple of nights with a couple of hours each night.

uk based and still looking

well just to stir the pot some more i'm in the uk and have yet to find a good (simple and easy to use) software. I've even tired using so callled professionals with little result so can i put my hand out tooo and yell help

I used to pay for a web host. Now I use the free Google Sites and am very satisfied. You don't need any web site software to set up or maintain your site. They have lots of web site templates that you can customize and I find the built in site management tools easy to use. I don't like ads on web sites and Google Sites have none. If you want to get fancy, you can add your own HTML code to let you do pretty much anything you want on a web page. It's easy to add a PayPal shopping cart, etc. (although I don't need them yet). I have no connection to Google Sites, just happy I found something that's free and works really well for me.

There are several other similar free web making sites that seem just as good. These include Weebly, uCoz, and Jimdo.

I really don't need hosting (I have a few servers and a fractional T1 at the house), I'm just looking for an easy design SW that the wife can use so I don't have to keep doing the updates and stuff once she goes live with her site.

Thanks
Danny

I tried a few free web design programs before and they did not come close to the ease and functionality of Google Sites, (or Weebly and the others I imagine). Sounds like one of these free web sites would be ideal for your wife.

Here is a Review of some web design software if you feel the need to use your own server. Good luck.
