I was asked by a colleague at the Gallery who weaved to make a couple of these. She really wanted Osage orange so she got just that. I don't know what they are called, but the are ready for finish. Top one is her original.

Many, many tools used here and fun to make something new and do a favor too.

I believe those are called beaters (for beating the newly placed thread into place against the fabric). Different sizes accommodate projects of variable widths as well as if the weaver wants to work a small section in a different color or pattern.

Spinning wheels and drop spindles are some of the primary reasons I was interested in wood turning. Eventually I may turn some replacement parts for some of my antique wheels.

Thanks for the info. Catherine, the lady who weaves, makes stunning items. I hope she will be pleased.
