Well, here's the story. A friend gave me his chunk of walnut but as you can see there was a large gouge. I didn't know what to do with it so I tried a vase - about 12 " tall. The neck is where the gouge was and the bottom ended up being spalted and cream. A nice contrast. Not sure I like the shape but it turned out rather interesting - don't you think? As always - c & c welcome!
