A friend sent me a glued up blank. I roughed it out on my bandsaw, glued on a waste block, screwed on a face plate and mounted it on the lathe.

After turning the outside contour I turned the inside. I turn slightly out board to have better access to the inside.

After sanding and finishing, I part the bowl off and clean up the bottom with a flap disk and sanding disks on my drill. I plan on making myself a Longworth chuck but have not gotten around to it.

The finished bowl is 7 1/2" in diameter and 4" tall.

I like the different segmenting effects in the bowl.

BTW I use a donut chuck for finish my bowls. I figured it was easier to make than the Longworth variety :)
