Wall Street III won't advance refill

Just finished a WS III and, for some unknown reason, The refill won't advance. Any ideas? Followed instructions to a T and puzzled now.

Check the hole, sometimes there is flash or gunk stuck in their and wont let the tip go through.

This is a problem on some kits. The spring has a small end and a large one. Maybe it is backwards. Make sure the tranny spins well too.

Found that gremlins were present and somehow the upper part of the twist transmission was pushed in and won't come out.
Anyone have a WS II or WS III twist transmission gathering dust?

I made a bolt action pen the other day and the problem was the spring cocking slightly and preventing the tip of the cartridge from going through the hole. I snipped off about 2 turns of the spring at the tip end, and it worked perfectly.

Look through the hole at the tip and if you can see any of the spring there, that may be the problem.
