Throwing this out to the members in hopes of a solution. 4 years ago I made everyone in the family a Wall Street II pen #146595 and purchased the kits at the time from Woodcraft Supply. Well, it's that time for an ink cartridge change out and to my surprise I cannot get 3 of the 4 pens open to change the cartrige out. The one I did get open was extremely beyond tight fitting and I had to actually put some heavy dense foam inside a pair of pliers to line them so as to not damage the pen. After 15 minutes of struggleing it finally opened up. Then I had to take a small drum sander and take off a few thousandths inside the brass tube. It's back to fitting again but 45 minutes of time spent. Tried the foam lined pliers on the other three pens with no luck. It's like it's welded together. Is it that the Chinese tolerances only last so long and I toss out beautiful expensive pens??? I'm hoping someone out there may have another solution to get at my ink cartridges so I may keep these pens I spent so much time in the making. Looking for some expertise on this predicament........Thanks

If the pen operates to extend and retract the refill, just continue to twist counterclockwise. It will separate, probably at the twist mechanism.
(POSSIBLY at the nib connection). You don't HAVE to get your tuirned body off.

FWIW,
Ed

Brillant suggestion!!!.... Twisting it counter clockwise went so far and then the cap itself spun. Took the cap off and "gently" with a pliers turned the mechanism a little further counter clockwise till it unscrewed itself. You have saved me countless hours of agravation and I thank you very much for your suggestion. Have a great day!
