walking stick with wood spirit

Before I started penmaking, I was making canes and walking sticks. I took a stroll home and came up with this. It was enjoyabe doing this again. I'll take this with me when I shop the woods for turning materials. It is diamond willow and the carving was done with both knives and dremmel tools.

Beautiful! That really looks like it took a lot of skill to do. I know I could never create something like that. The spirit image looks like it was done on a machine, amazing you did that by hand.

The willow I got from my local Woodcraft, they get it in now and then.
