How about if I show off two things at once? every evening my wife comes out and cleans up for me after a day messing around in the shop,I guess that's why I married her 38 plus years ago,I knew i'd have a shop one of these years for her to clean for me:D

Bill,
You really are showing off now aren't you? My wife does not even like to go into my shop, she wants me to convert it to a game room, who needs a 16' X 24' playroom? I DO, BUT I need my shop more. Congrats!!!

Mike

Send your wife to my shop when she gets through cleaning yours, instead of mini maids, you have shop maids.[:D]

What is the idea behind the plywood partitions on each side of your lathe??

Dang, I've got to get me a new wife, mine said she would shot me if she caught me at Hooter's...[:(]

I make a deal with my wife, she stays out of my shop and I stay out of her sewing/quilting area. Must be working since we will celebrate 30 wonderful years together next month. When my oldest daughter wants to talk she comes out to my shop and will clean while we have some father/daughter time. She has a cleaning compulsion that is a real problem at times, so cleaning my shop is kind of a therapy for her plus I get a clean place to work while we talk. She is seriously the type that will go into a grocery store with me and neaten up all the cans on the shelves while we shop.

Woodwish,
What kind of quilts does your wife work on? My wife has 2 miniatures (one won second place in the online contest) that will be in the American Quilters Society International quilt show this coming April. I have my shop and she has her quilt room also.

it sure does stink when you are expecting a box of blanks and all that arrives in more fabric for the quilt room. LOML has buckets and buckets of fabric in her stash and a few new pieces show up every week. She spends two weeks every summer teaching quilting to girl scouts at a summer camp program. I have a lot more $ in tools but her fabric stash could buy my kits and blanks 10 times over.

Heck ---I have to watch my wife when she comes out to my shop---she steals things like wood and tools. She doesn't even try to hide it either---

[:D]Aren't wives wonderful?[:D] Although I have to admit, that's more sonderful than I'd ever be! Maybe that's one of the few tweaks that Randy thinks I may need.

David, I have no idea what she makes other than really pretty ones, at least to me. She mostly sews clothing but recently starting quilting more. So far just gifts and such. I dropped a hint about a quilted cover for the lathe but just got a dirtly look! [}:)] I talked to her once about AQSI but at this point she wasn't interested. Maybe I will surprise here for our anniversary and join her up in it?

My wife never comes near the shop. Well, except for that one time ... she said she was going to the shop ... next thing I knew she came back from the mall with a bunch of new clothes.

I said to her, "Hey, I thought you were going to THE shop?"

"Sorry, hon, I said I was going TO shop!"

Oh well.[;)]

My wife wont clean the shop for me, she said it was all mine and she means it. I am still trying to get her to turn something. But then I would have to compete with her for time on the lathe.
