I wanted to do something special with one of Kate Harrow's Apollo kits for a while now. Recently another good friend, Christina Boda of Forge & Script gave me a preview sample of her "Vlad the Impaler" blank. The blank literally looks like swirling blood.
Details are an Apollo kit which I tubed with a 9x10 brass tube. Aluminum bands punched from sheet. Synthetic opal inlay built up on the tube. Aluminum pommel (I wanted it to look like a dagger handle to stay with the Vlad theme). The pen holder is a resin medical students model off Amazon with a custom turned Aluminum insert that uses the Apollo cap insert, therefore it is strictly a desk pen.
I had a lot of fun with this one!
