I drove north and met a few fellow IAP'ers this weekend at Chuck's Cave. There were four of us, Chuck (Dalecamino), Wayne (Stonepecker), Mark James, and me. We started around 8am at the Waffle House and then ventured to Chuck's Cave. He was teaching us how he makes kitless pens. There were lots of stories told throughout the day. Someone had the bright idea to swing by Hooter's for lunch, which Wayne and Mark had never been to!! All in all it was a great weekend visiting with friends. A few pens got made, lot's of bourbon got drank, and many stories were told. Here are a few pics I snapped.

Am I missing something here????

You go to Hooters.......and we only get pics of a bunch of grumpy old codgers???.

I didn't see any pics of the bourbon either, just Wayne holding a Dr. Pepper can and Chuck is the only one actually doing any work.
Makes you wonder......

Wayne had some concoction that was half bourbon half peppermint schnapps. It was different but good.

13 pictures and not one glimpse of the towel. Chuck's getting good! Looks like you guys had a great time!
What towel??? Yes, we did have a great time indeed. You join us next time!

Those wings are so good, nobody thought about a camera :confused:
But, I tolerated those old codgers pretty well.

I let them control the Bourbon!

Thanks Ernie, Wayne and, Mark for making the trip. I always enjoy your visits. It was a really good time and, I needed some pen making experience  Ernie, I am anxious to see that proto-type. Good thinking!!

I was doing my best John Kasich Imitation (Being the only "Adult" in the crowd). I did well until BobLeibo entered the fray... Then the maturity level got very low... "Hello Bob"... "Hello Hooters"... As Wayne said: "They" followed me home... "can I keep em!!!":eek::bananen_smilies027:

I just wanted to add to this post, what I forgot to mention. When Wayne arrived, he had two deep pans of his own Lasagna. It was delicious! Thank you Wayne! When we visited Harbor Freight, he wanted me to have a set of Needle Files. Thank you again Wayne!

When Mark and, Ernie showed up, there were more pleasant surprises
Ernie, had a special project he came up with and, we were able to tackle that on the metal lathe. More will come of this later.

Mark arrived with enough reading material to, keep me occupied for days, as well as some VERY interesting blanks, a CASE of Yuengling, and a Pecan pie  I tried to share this with the group but, they all declined. You guys don't know what you turned down. Thank You Mark!!:biggrin:

Best of all is, the friendship all of these guys have extended. It is very much appreciated, and I hope you can all come back again soon!

Mark & Ernie, I'll see you at the MPG!

Finally have a computer that I can post with.

Chuck, Mark & Ernie.....The day will be a memory forever for me.
Yes, we had lots of fun and now Mark has another way to drink Bourbon.

That Lasagna was really good. I think we should have sent some home with Ernie.
Mark, Let me know when Nancy has some of that paint remover ready and if the timing is right, I will drive down and get a little from her.

Chuck, Thank you for the lessons the day before and the pleasure of your company. People you will find nobody who shows more friendship then Chuck. Not only did he open the Cave to me, Susanne and Chuck showed me what true hospitality is.

We made many toasts to the members that were not there this weekend. All of us had out invitations. Chuck made me a pen with one of the blank's I had with...... We named it "BOB". I learned so much and now have new respect for those that use the metal lathe. And if this is the way the friendship of the IAP is everywhere......then all I can say is we all need to take trips.

Ernie, Mark & Chuck..... THANK YOU for everything.
Wayne

I will be posting pictures when I get home. And NO, I didn't take any at hooters.
