Spalted maple is my favorite. Very nice job on the pen.
There is not much maple here in Missouri but I was going through a local lumber mill and they had a few maple planks. I noticed there was some very nice spalting on one end. The tree must have sat on the ground for awhile before they milled it. Had to buy the whole plank but I look forward to turning it up.
