Baron using an older exotic blank called Violet Wave ( not sure if they still offer it. It came in a recent IAP deal )

Yes I did. i may have a slight bulge in the centers of the barrels - perhaps 0.010 to 0.012.

I like to make my two piece pens with relatively straight barrels. Just a personal preference is all.

I rough turn between centers using the bushings leaving around 0.080. I then turn between centers without bushings and measure with digital calipers to match the hardware of the kit.

I have patternmaker's disease as my wife calls it *G*

Thanks for all the kind words.

I also put together a RB and FP set using these blanks but in chrome hardware.

I think the black chrome looks better.

This combination looks athletic in appearance. In your opinion how does the plating hold up to use? Eg., easily scratched, a little too shiny, dulls quickly, etc?

I honestly don't know how well the plating will hold up.

I do know that my retired attorney wife would wear the plating off whatever I made for her except chrome plated pens. They held up better.

I should have made her some all stainless pens like the eagle or others of that nature but never got around to it.
