Several people have suggested it would be great to have videos showing us tat work turning pens, finishing techniques, tips and tricks etc. etc.

So, let me suggest over the Holidays, we all try to take a video of ourselves turning, finishing, tips/tricks etc. and post to You Tube and then post that link to this thread.

Let's share our experience with each other and give each other that Christmas gift of knowledge.

Sound good, guys!?!?

Let's do it!

Sounds pretty cool, BUT...I am on dial up and I have no video camera. So, I can't make a video, and I can't watch video's online. I am in a pretty rural setting here..not the outback, but remote enough that there are no good affordable options to access the internet.

OKay, that is a great idea. Just grand. I'll need to clean up my workshop. I am not sure you will like the yellow walls and red cabinet work.

I have already made a few that may be beneficial to some...including ca finish, making decals and some casting videos.

Good idea,

Those of you without vid cameras, most digicams have a video mode. The quality is meh, but it works. The new DSLRs coming out can do 1080p!

Use your digicam, set it on a beanbag or a pile of rags or something if you don't have a tripod, somewhere near your work area and start filming.

I like the idea of this just as a video introduction.

OOOHHH!!!

How about a bash contest for who has the best/funniest/dumbest/whatever video?

Oh, as far as getting it posted... Save the video on a thumbdrive, burn it to a CD, whatever, and take it to a library or internet cafe.

Yes, you hicks have to drive into town.

I should post one of how to make a cigar pen (not the kit, the kind one smokes). Problem is it will have to wait until Feb. when my home office is completed. I'm the contractor and I'm way behind making cigar pens for customers for Christmas!
