...as beautifully done as you have turned, finished and photographed the pen, IMO the ornamentation in the hardware districts greatly from the WOWSER timber! Great
execution...Be well......Jan

Thanks, all.

Janster, she thought it would be good to have both the fancy hardware and nice wood in the pen so people had more to admire.

Band Saw Box and Mortalis, check out the images below. She didn't commandeer this one like normal, but instead rummaged through my Amboyna inventory after seeing the kit while hanging/organizing all the kits for me. When she was done I found I had to make her another pen. :)

Jason, I have no Sympathy for you,
Losing a prized blank and pen to your LOYL.
It is all your own Fault for having your Workshop, and Equipment so well organised.
No wonder it was too easily found and co-opted.
It is too, too Tidy.
Your Wife has shown great Taste in Pens,
A Magnificent Amboyna Burl.
And a Prestigious Antique Brass Victorian Pen.
Superbly Fitted and Finished.
Serves you right, be like most of us, Let Chaos run your Workshop.
Brian.
P.S. I am envious of your workshop, it looks great, but please don't show it to my wife.

LOL! I can't do the chaos thing, Brian.

Memory issues dictate that I stay overly organized so I know what I'm doing. I often stop and clean up a least a couple of times a day - or when everything gets so scattered that I can't find something.

My kids can come out and find exactly what they need without issue and I can tell at a glance if everything has been put back in it's place.

Also useful when friends/neighbors borrow tools. :)

sure.. make us all jealous that not only is that a gorgeous pen, but your wife organizes for you and on top of that you have that great work area for assembly and such! :)

She helps with labeling and such for some items and after making that pen (and all the others) for her (and her soldiers) it's easy to get her out to help when needed.

I couldnt help postina pic of my "shop" after seeing your beautiful real shop.

We all know it's not the quality of the shop that matters, but what comes out of it. Often times talent trumps tools. :)

Great job on the pen. Very nice finish and photo. I have to get some of that wood.

Beautiful wood pen blank! It should be put on display. The details are well executed.

Thanks, guys. My wife is Laotian and the Amboyna Burl I'm getting is from Laos so she has an affinity for it. She's my #1 "customer" and I regularly get voluntold to make items for her or her soldiers.
