Do you find it strange when a member here asks a question of you and does not come back. I do.
I had a member ask me about some tools back in the middle of March and has not been back on line since. :confused::confused:

Happens way too often. Sometimes it gets frustrating because you take the time to answer and maybe even write a huge response and you do not even know if they read it. You did your part if they want it that is their responsibility. Sometimes life just gets in the way. You can only hope things are well.

I've been on other boards and sometimes New Posters don't know how to find their own posts and just leave.

Once someone PMed me on another board asking about campgrounds around my area. I wrote a 3 or 4 paragraph response and got nothing back. It was odd because this was a long time poster and had a lot of activity after the request.

Look at the pages and pages of "members" who have never posted, or post once or twice. If they "stop in" and don't find our community "fascinating", they move on.

I have noticed it in some threads. Some one asks a question and then never acknowledges the responses they get. In some cases it appears they never return even if they started the thread.

SAY WHAT:eek::eek::eek::eek::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

We live in a fast pace world these days and everyone wants results immediately. Sometimes I think if people see there is more work to their problem or more than one answer, then they just move on.

I try to respond and thank people for their responses, I am sure sometimes I get in a hurry and just go through the posts. But I have seen sometimes with someone new that asks a question that the responses overwhelm the OP.

I try to be vigilant about replies to my questions. . If my question is in a thread, then I subscribe to that thread and leave a thank you or a "Like". . If my question is in a PM then I watch for a reply and thank the replier. . I believe you can set up you PM reply in such a way as to get a receipt when the person reads your reply ... but it is nicer to get a thank you.

If it was Old Bessie, my Grandparents, we apologize. Health issues have put them out of commission. He's been on the verge of hospice and it's just devastating her. I try to keep up with these things online for them, and I am really thankful for the time they spent showing me penmaking. I hope to continue making pens and such with them, but...... I really appreciate this site and should probably join up myself, but I am just a kid. Once again, all apologies if it was Old Bessie-aka Wll or Linda. All the best to all of the IAP!

So sorry to read this. Just been through this with my Mom and I know how much it hurts. Never worry about the little things and take care of family and enjoy each day. Prayers being sent to you and your family.

Sometimes things happen..

I know I was talking to Rick Herrell about making a couple tools back in October then boom my wife gets a new job and we are moving to a new town. It's taken me this long to get back to where I can think about the tools again. I still can't find half my tools.

I know I have been guilty of this on occasion...especially when a response comes some time after the original post and I don't realize that there has been new activity on the thread. I don't always get on the board every day...more like once or twice a week sometimes, and I've been embarrassed to find that someone has responded, or asked a question, that has languished because I didn't see it. Please know that I really appreciate all the answers I get and all the help you have all give me over the years.
