I just got a recall notice from the NHTSA for a truck I traded in about 16 months ago. It's a tad annoying because I spent a lot of time driving rental cars and money chasing gremlins and the recall covers the reason I traded it in. My question is does the fact that the recall notice came to me at a different address than the one I bought it at mean that I was the last one to register that truck?

Probably. I own a Ford Windstar that was heavily used before I bought it, and I get recall notices from time to time because the recall notices are sent out according to registered VIN numbers as opposed to original owners/purchasers.

it is a scam. i just got one from a car i haven't owned for more than 10 years. and it has changed hands twice sine i got rid of it. they are trying to sell extended warranty insurance

Recall notices and the fake "Your warranty is about to expire" insurance ads are two entirely different things.

Got a recall notice on my 370Z earlier this year... only took them 2 years to determine my complaint was the same as others (or enough others to warrant a recall). Frustrating. I just faxed in my paperwork earlier today to get my $1k+ back.
