Vega 1553 ... Anyone own one here?

I may have the opportunity to pick up a Vega 1553. I don't know vintage or too many specifics, as I am waiting for a return call. He is asking $600. Any of you own one and give me some info.? What about size and turning a pen on one? Thanks and as soon as I talk to him and get more info, I will update.

I spoke to him and am taking a look at it tomorrow. Anything I need to look for specifically...ie. problems etc. I will update after I take a look at it.

Wow, that is a nice lathe. Hellofa deal, as long as it is reasonable shape. $3000 bucks new.
