I'm considering offering some different pen blanks at my venue. Idea is to combine synthetic and natural materials, either as a segmented blank or one of each in a two blank kit as the Slimline. Thanks.

There's no right or wrong answer.
I personally don't like one of each on a slimline. This just doesn't work for me.
However, antler on the top of a slimline with a dark wood bottom does.
I like worthless wood OR segmentation on each blank.
Again, just my preference.

Testing the waters to see what others have done. Pen turning has a lot of leeway in designing, segmenting and decorating blanks.
Let us know how it goes. I have had good results segmenting wood and synthetic, or involving aluminum/brass for accents. My personal preference tends to be using synthetics as accent pieces to complement the wood, but there are no wrong answers here if you're having a good time and happy with your results.
