Anyone rebuilt their vacuum pump or can point me in the right direction?
Mine seized up so I'll try taking it apart before I break down and get a new one .

Hey Mike--i can't help on the rebuild, but those who can will probably be helped by knowing the make & model.
Stay well!!

Yeah Earl, I guess more info would help.
It's a BVV VE225 I bought it at the last MPG and only used it a dozen times.
It looks like some of the stabilizer was sucked into the pump and set up.
I've never used enough stabilizer to reach the vacuum outlet so I'm wondering if the fumes could do it.
Should I be changing the oil regularly?

Hey Mike, you might ask Curtis at TurnTex. I think he spoke to this problem on something I read a while back. I change my oil after every two cycles. Vacuum pump oil is cheap and I kind of look at it as cheap insurance. Good luck on getting your pump up and running again.

I thought I remembered something a while back.
I just finished tearing it apart and it is really pretty simple inside.
Cleaning the crap out of it right now so I'll let you know how it works and how many parts I have left
over  .

Glad to hear that Mike. I also change oil every other time. I think JB (i'm using their Eliminator pump) recommends changing the oil every use--but i've done okay after two cycles.

Curious as to what kind of crap you found in it , apart from the parts , and what kind of damage was done to the parts . As was said above , oil is cheap . I usually change after every session , but I do a lot of cones and softwoods with high resin content , which shows up in the oil .
