Whenever I go anywhere, I like to bring something back that I can 'hopefully' turn into a pen. I've done these before with shells from Fl. These are from Provincetown, MA. I was pretty pleased with the outcome. They are fun to do and I hope you like. Tubes are painted blue, all shells indiviually glued, then cast in clear resin. Comments/criticism always welcome. Thanks for looking!

The one and only problem i have with the IAP is that almost every time i visit i get new ideas. No way in a million years will i ever find time to try them all. Very nice pen!
 
Wow! You did a fantastic job with it. Good to see you posting your pens. I always look forward to seeing them. I tried that once and ended up with all of my fingers glued together with shells on my fingers and not on my tubes.

You did a beautiful job! Must say, I am very jealous you can get it to work.
 
Jennifer, that is a beautiful pen. Did you hit any of the shells while turning? If not, do you do any precast measuring so you know what you can get away with?

Love the pen and have had the idea of doing a similar one. Just have not been anywhere to gather shells. I think yours may be a better looking than my idea was going to be.

Keep being inspired and congrats on a great pen.

Thanks Eric~fine pointed tweezers helps to minimize getting my fingers stuck!
Harry, I do them by eye. I have turned into a shell occassionally, but ca will usually do the trick. I appreciate all the kind words!
 
How in the world did you find a starfish that small?

Very nice. Great idea and you just really did it up super. Can't let my wife see this one, I don't have the talent to put something like that together.
 
Thanks all! Scott, all shells were found in Provincetown, MA ~ I look forward to going back and getting more! Paul I am sure you would be able to do it just as well! Give it a go! :)
 
Jennifer, I really like your pen and the execution is beautiful. May I ask two questions? Are you using CA for the gluing and is the PR or Alumalite that you are using for casting?
I always like looking at your posted pens.
 
Thanks for the nice comments!-Cindy, yes ca for the gluing of each shell,then glue the whole shell to fill in any voids in/around shells-cure at least 24 hours to gas off-then PR.
