Saturday, I did a presentation to Bayou Wood turners, on hi tech finishes. These two pens where part of the presentation. Finished with UV cured clear, that I borrowed from Lance Dupre. one coat, dries in minuets. you need a special light to cure the finish and they can be costly plus the UV clear is pricey. When I get more info I will post. As of now Lance and I are still exploring the potential use, of this product.
The Gold/ Chrome Elegant Sierra is Rosewood burl, the Slimline is colorwood for a freedom pen turnathon. this weekend.

Larry you should ask Lance who really owns the varnish machine, he is married to one very lucky women, (not because she got Lance LOL)
it is a UV cured varnish imported from Europe, there can be a learning curve as it is easy to have it build up to high and also will crack if components are pushed in and it overlaps the edge
Pens I did last year are as hard and clear as the day I finished them

John, Lance blew a fuse,or something, in his wife's dryer, and I have some UV lights that the body shops dry UV primer with, and they worked. There is a learning curve that I have just scratched the surface on.

Quite a few cuemakers use a version of uv curing. It's very costly. And can be a little dangerous. As for myself, i'd rather spray automotive clear then mess with uv.
Here's one that alot of them use. And it's only $10,000:eek:
I think I'll keep buying CA.
