That is a pretty good idea.
I need to see if it needs any adjusting for getting down to a finished glue up size of 3/4". I am sure they didn't expect anyone need to go that small.

One should possibly put wax paper or freezer paper slick side up on the jig to prevent the parts from sticking to the jig.

I am making one right now and am using a non-stick kitchen cutting board in place of the wax paper, etc. These cutting boards are available in the local WalMart in the kitchen/housewares section.

Using the cutting board eliminates having to keep up with where the wax paper/tin foil etc. is when you need it the most. Nothing sticks - permanently - to these cutting boards.
