Hello John; I was assigned to the U2s and in 1964 spent a TDY with or birds flying out of Barksdale and us put up behind the massive fences at Bosier. Great accommodations and food. Bass fishing was the best I have ever experienced.

Dick, BAFB is pretty much the same. My Dad was stationed there 4 different times. Bass fishing not as good.:frown:
Wonderful plane the U2, they used to have one one display at the airshow; but, not this year. Thanks for your service.

I live real close to their home base, They practice at Creech AFB in Indian Springs NV. I have seen them practice 100's of times, It never gets old.

Barksdale was my last duty station. I was in the Comm Squadron working on the base networks.

The last air show I went to was at there and finally got to see the Blue Angles after 26 years associated with the Air Force.

Growing up I got to see the Thunderbirds in F-4s (don't remember much, I was only 2), T-38s, and F-16s. The F-16s are by far the most impressive.

Thanks to all of you for your service!!!!!!!!!!!! Did mine 1965-66-67 on the Mekong, we live close to Luke AFB in Arizona, never get tired of the guys blowing by, others around here gripe about the noise, to us it's the sound of freedom !!!!!!!! And we are happy to hear it !! We even had some newcomer ask us the other day, why they built the AFB so close to the houses, DUH !!!!!
