I had thought I'd have time to get ready for this, but I'm unfortunately in a position where I'll need an urn in the near future, as my dad doesn't have much time left. I'm both unequipped for doing internal hollowing, too scattered to trust myself being safe with power tools right now, and too busy to have the time to learn at this moment. Just wondering if anyone knows where someone could buy a wooden urn in (or deliverable to) Canada? I have no idea what mom would want it to look like, but just looking to see if anyone knows of a website she could look at?

I haven't slept in a bit, so just wondering if someone could have a quick look and see if they can find a site that looks legit? I don't trust myself to vet a site from a scam at the moment!

Very sorry.......understand the need, had the same situation with my dad. You might want to possibly pursue a box for the remains instead of a turned urn if you are unsure of turning a larger item. Remains in the US are delivered in a sealed container, often rectangular. I built a solid cherry box dimensioned for the container and epoxied the inside for my dad's remains to seal the inside. Sizes of the packaged remains are varied, but they are about the size of a smaller jewelry box. I built mine slowly and carefully over time after his death, as there is no rush at that point. The remains went inside and the box was locked for safe keeping. It is a cherished momento.

If you want to do an urn, there are also a number of vendors that offer brass threaded urn inserts to use in a turning, including this one urn threads .

I have a friend who owns info@southernfarmdesigns.com and does really nice work. Very sorry about your dad and hope your mom is getting through this ok.
