So, last Monday, I was able to take advantage of that Jet sale, and ordered a Jet 1221 to supplement my old Jet 1236.

My wife and I had gone up Saturday evening to visit out daughter and son in law and spend time with our sons who are attending bible college. We had a great time visiting and catching up.

We drove home that night, and got home around 11pm only to find that a toilet upstairs broke and had flooded several rooms upstairs and several rooms downstairs. In the process of getting things dried out, I had to give up all my shop space in the garage to hold things for the time being.

My new lathe will be delivered on Friday, and I won't have a place to put it for a while.:frown::mad::frown:

That simply sucks! That happened to a friend of mine. The insurance paid for new carpet, walls, paint, some cabinets, etc. She turned it into a redecorating adventure. Good luck~

Well I guess toilets are the theme. I am in the process of putting my Mom's house up for sale. I go to fix the upstairs toilet by replacing the wax ring and installing new guts in it because it was time. After that I noticed drips in the cellar. Turns out the stack pipe developed several cracks. Cast iron in a 70 year old house. Wound up opening walls and replacing the entire stack to all bathrooms. In the process of putting walls back and taping and painting. Will be happy to see this house get sold. Yes a lot of memories there but also I have done a lot of work in that house over the years. Time for someone else to enjoy the fun. At least my problem did not cause major water damage. There should be some sort of shut off that you can install in case of emergency. That could be a very good innovation. I get royalties if someone invents this.

That's kind of how my wife is viewing this. All I want right now is the fans out and our washer & dryer hooked back up. Then I'll be in a better mood to pick flooring as we'll be able to wash laundry. And I'll get my shop space back!
