Well, I just finished reading the "report of the MRI"....yup, almost a month and a half to get to this point. Unbelievable the 'crap' a person has to go through in order to receive treatment.

Five years of grinding and finding a place in the market for bandsaw milling....upgrading equipment as I could afford it. All for nothing....just put my bandsaw mill on C-List, and I'll have to figure out a few more places to advertise also. I won't be using it again.....just looked, there is 55 hours on the engine! If anyone happens to know someone...send them my way, I'll even train the next owner.
I'll take my 'monies' from the sale and get me a astrograph imaging set-up and stare at the stars and such.

The terrifically bad news!
I have a 'free fragment' that is 2.2x1.0x1.0cm floating around inside my spinal column. Well, it's not floating right now, it's jammed against a bone with a nerve bundle between it and a bone(well that would explain the 'no feeling' part). I see specialist this next Monday to find out what they will do.
There is some damage not only on the L5, but the L4..... The L1 has an 'issue' that is not a issue(whatever that is supposed to mean). Basically, I'm pretty broken, and starting to go ape-chit nutz sitting around for weeks on end.

Moral of the story? Ah, that's easy....just when you think that it's time to let the 'real job' know the 5am to 6pm is not needed anymore, ya get a big ol'biatchslap....right in the face! One little 39" vertical fall and it's all over.

If you happen to have an opening, I'll let ya start with that saw! But only if you use duct tape to patch everything up before super gluing the cut shut!!!

I wouldn't wish this on anyone, not even the "Killer of Benghazi".....

I had a L5, S1 laminectomy done almost 6 years ago. That took a long time to go from 'gimpy' to 'I-can-do-that-now'....I was 'down' for almost a year before Dr. Saer fixed me. Now I get to see one of his students....not what I had hoped to see him again for.

Such a bummer. I've always liked your pics, and have drooled over your saw. That is a sad day.

I too have "something" floating in my spinal area. Hopefully will get a better diagnosis with an MRI in June than the current "huh, I don't know what that is".

Now I understand your comment. I hate the pain more than not being able to, but it stinks to not be able to either.
Hope it goes well for you.

Sheesh, I feel fortunate. I am chugging along just fine so my prayers are directed to you. We need you to be able and happy and enjoy life.

Oh boy...!

Do I know about spinal issues...!

Sad when we don't "bounce" as well as we did when young chaps however, many of us are now suffering from damages caused from those bouncings that, at the time, didn't look much.

Adapting to the circumstances, is something that seem impossible when we feel unable to do certain things however, with some determination and self worth, we always find ways to "skin the cat".

Repairing time is most painful and all consideration, I hope you hang in there and get the healing process starting...!

Best of luck.

Cheers
George

Best wishes to you Scott. Hopefully, you're young enough to find another vocation you can handle. Sorry, I don't think I know of anyone to take over your mill. Best of luck!

Sorry to hear Scott.

I understand back pain frustration. It sucks, what one second in time can do.

I hope that it can get fixed and you can begin the road to recovery.

We'll keep our hopes up and our fingers crossed for you.

Sorry to hear that news Scott, as a chronic pain sufferer myself for the past 15 years I know how you must be feeling, remember we are all hear for you buddy, keep your chin up!

Saw the specialist the other day.

Two options....both include the words 'cut open'.

Injections at this point are useless, as there is no disc to inject any longer. Besides, if they were to inject, or try to inject, something into a 'floating fragment' and the thing moves or they miss and hit the nerve.....well, let's just say I'd be in a wheelchair for a long time.

Once again.....waiting on WComp to pull their heads out of the proverbially backside and do something.
