Months back, while box blading at the farm, I uprooted what appears to be part of a hackberry root system. This one piece was about 3 feet in length and 10 inches wide. It basically stayed on the ground till now. I decided to cut a section before burning it just to see what it looked like inside. Surprisingly, most of it is still hard solid despite the heavy spalting. And even more, there is plenty of burl swirls. Here are the pics.. straight out of the bandsaw. I still don't know what to do with these pieces... maybe I can solicit some suggestions from you all.
