I found this in some of my older turning box and can't remember what it is. could have been put there by mistake. Anyone know what it is?

I was puzzled for a minute, because the photo made it look like it was plastic... but I think it may be a woodworm screw.

(I don't think I've ever used mine, either)

Parallel threaded screw chuck fitting. For use with 4 jaw scrolling chuck . Drill a hole in a bowl blank cross grain ( NOT end grain ) . Put this i. the chuck jaws and secure by closing jaws then thread the blank onto the screw. Always a good idea to put a cork washer between blank and chuck so if it starts to loosen at any point you remove the washer and turn the blank a bit more onto the screw.
