unknown burl blanks

obtained a slab of this wood several years ago from someone as a trade. unfortunatly him nor I have a clue what type of wood it is.

has LOTS of checking in it. will definatly need to have voids filled prior to finishing or be used for WW casting. The piece on the bottom was wiped down with some lacquer sealer.

My guess would be Eucalyptus Burl.

Could be eucalyptus burl.
If it's very lightweight and rather soft, it could be redwood burl.
If it's denser and heavier and smells sort of sweet when cut and turned, could be cherry burl.

i really have no idea what it is. definatly not cherry though, i know that much. maybe someday I'll figure it out

If it is domestic, my first guess would be elm burl.

Maple burl will show that coloring too.

it may be elm, although I have not seen elm in person. i know we have it in select areas around here.
