Universal Index Attachment

Does anyone use the PSI universal indexing system? Universal Index Attachment at Penn State Industries
It looks like it will fit any almost any lathe that has the 1-8TPI spindle. My question is will it fit an old lathe that is no where a mini lathe, I can turn 20" diameters. Will the stand reach that high?

Good Morning & A Happy Easter to you and your's.
I have on, have not used it yet so it does a great job of collecting dust. That being said I pulled it out and set it to the maximum height I felt was safe and measured. It will take a blank of about 17" dia. Keep in mind that PS mainly sells for midi lathes so if used on a larger one it is possible to be dangerous.
One of these days I am going to try it out but only on my midi lathe.

I haven't used it often, mostly because I only had a temporary setup with clamps. But it works well.

I need to take the time and build the right indexing pin & support to make it more solid. Instructions are good to do this though - I'm just a big procrastinator.

Thanks for the comments, sounds like it maybe too small. Maybe I need a new lathe?

Seems silly they do not tell you more at web site they do in catalog. Fits lathes with 10" to 16" swing. Simple to increase swing with a spacer where attaches at ways.
