This is an Ultra Cigar in chrome and gold, from Woodcraft. The blank is called Dragon Fruit, and is from Bear Tooth Woods. I think it's stunning!

There was a scratch in the upper body after I turned it, that I had trouble with. I didn't notice it until I had polished it the first time. I tried wet sanding it three times, but just couldn't get rid of the scratch. Finally, I very carefully took it out with a carbide chisel. That fixed it! I'm very glad, it shore is purty!

Greetings - Nice looking pen. I've made a lot of Cigars, but never the Ultra version. I love how the swirls in the blank match up with the swirls on the clip. I guess I'm going to have to try some Ultra Cigar kits. - Dave

What is different about the ultra, vs. the regular cigar?

The nib piece, center band, clip and finial are all quite ornamented wheras the regular cigar has pieces with smooth surfaces.
The clip of the ultra has a different shape (pointed) from the regular.
If you look on a vendor's website, such as exoticblanks.com, the pictures show the impressive differences.
