Nice! I love 2-tone, it adds a lot of character.

I need to turn some of Nolan's amboyna too ...so many wood, so little time. [:p]

Thanks everyone....
Nolan...I really like the Baron. Very straight forward and little chance of error in the bushing placement....This is a Sterling Silver and I like the plating.
Woodlvr....Sharp...light passes...thin CA as you go to help stabilize blank if necessary.
Dario....get busy![:D]

Great looking piece of wood. Unless you're keeping that for yourself, charge extra for it because you don't get Amboyna like that everyday.

I love amboyna burl, nice looking job. So are you going to share your new found turning tips or what?

I bought a big hunk of this stuff last month, cut it up and now have 70 blanks so if there are some special tips on turning it, I'd love to know. [:)]

...here are the tips that Nolan gave me in a nutshell....

1...Don't let the blank get hot during drilling, turning or sanding.
2...Sharp tools
3...After drilling the blank, coat the inside of the hole with thin CA before glue up...standard procedure for tube glue up.
4...Inspect the blank and use thin CA on any suspect or fragile areas
5...When blank is close to finish size, coat with thin CA again

Can't wait to see your pens!
