A friend brought me a eucalyptus log from his camping trip near Tucson AZ. He had tried to split it with an ax but it was to hard. So I cut it in half with a chain saw and turned two bowls. I turned the first one and took it to work and it sold the first day. Turn the second one the next week end it sold right away also. Told my friend to bring me more wood.

Finish is Howards Butcher Block conditioner. Comments always welcome.

Those look to be pretty fair sized bowls. How big are they? I like the rim embellishment on the second one.

They are about 11 1/2" my lathe will only allow 11 5/8" blanks so at this time that is the biggest I can turn.

Bob the wood was very dry before I did the final cuts I soaked it with the butcher block oil. Then it cut cleaner.
