I just finished these two pens for a customer who has a good strategy of ordering pens. He asked me to email him pictures of the most outstanding blanks I have in two specific woods, Candy Boxelder and Amboyna Burl. These are the two he chose. It doesn't show in the pics, but they both have CA finishes.

The boxelder looks GREAT! I'm surprised at the difference in figure between the top and bottom Amboyna pices; were they part of the same blank?
 
Thanks for the comments. The Amboyna Burl was indeed one solid blank. There was a pretty abrupt change in pattern in the middle of the blank.
 
Those are great looking pens, Jim. I have some Amboyna blanks that show that pattern transition. I'm looking forward to turning them. I hope they look as good as yours.
