turning between the centers

A couple years ago I dealt with a fella that had a metal lathe. He was on the classifieds and made various sized ends for turning between the centers without using a mandrel. You'll have to excuse me as I'm tired and can't think of the correct terminology. Anyway I don't think he was in the best of health back then.

I'm looking for centers for the Artisian Clicker pens. If anyone know who that was or anyone making these centers please reply here.
