I not new here just can't seem to find any threads specifically on a stabilizing resin named Turner's Choice Stabilizing Resin. Very little info online so I thought I would ask my questions here.

Can or do you use this with a vacuum system?
Can "colors" be added to this resin?
Is this a heat treated process and if so how long do you "cook" the blanks?
How does this compare to Cactus Juice?

Thanks in advance for any responses. I am so tired of paying the high price of CJ to stabilize pen and ring blanks.

Take a look at it on Amazon. It seems to be a a product similar to Pentacryl (a product which has been around for many years); i.e. you soak green or wet wood in the stabilizer which replaces the water in the wood. The wood then dries without distorting or cracking--at least in theory. It is in no way similar to Cactus Juice.

Kind of a simple-minded explanation, but at least somewhat close to correct I think. There is a thread about it on the AAW Forum here:
