Last friday Cudahy High School, Cudahy Wi, conducted a Freedom Pens Turn-a-Thon. The goal was to create 200 slim line pens in one day. The students started at 7am and finished around 5pm. The final count......178. The kids worked hard and had a good time.

Thanks to Ed Brown for coming out and sharing his expertise.

(Here's proof Ed really does know how to make a pen.)

Thanks also to Al and Carl from MAWT for their help and guidance.

Dave

Great Teamwork guys. You had better not let that pic of Ed turning wood get out, his suppliers might get upset with him.:wink::biggrin:

I was going to say something about that! But then again, I know that "the resinator" says he likes to turn wood... Just has a hard time selling pens made of it.. His acrylics sell better...

Since these were giveaways - no problem there!

That is a fantastic thing to hear about. More schools should be getting involved with things like this. Thank you for getting involved.

We kept Ed over in a dark corner where no one could see him.

They got 200 done but a few of them needed adjustments.

This is the second year we did this. Last year it was over 200.

Ed moved a couple times. In case you didn't notice, Ed is actually turning WOOD. He claims to have had Dawn cast a blank to look like maple but we know the truth. Actually Ed was a great help, I'm glad he was able to join us.
