I already did a search so...

After turning a really pretty piece of Thuya Burl and Micro Meshing it to 12000, I waxed it with TSW. Yes, I forgot to finish it first. It was so shiney and pretty I forgot, and besides, I'm old and forget things.:D So forgetful, that I actually gave it a second coat of TSW before it dawned on me that I had not finished it. Of course it looks great, but will it hold up?

If it was yours, would you sand it down and finish it? How about a couple more coats of TSW? How does TSW hold up?

Thanks for any ideas or brutal criticism.:D

Will,

TSW and other waxes are protectants, not finishes. I would thoroughly clean the blank with acetone, really scrubbing it. Then, I would use micro mesh again and finish with your finsh of choice.
