Been thinking I want to buy some trustone. I would like to test it out first and see if I am up to task yet. If you have some shorties I will take them off your hands. I can pay for them or maybe we could work a trade or something. They dont have to be pen length, I can glue them to a waste block and practice.

The only problem I ever have with TruStone is that it wants to tear out when drilling. I finally figured out that if I cut the blanks about 3/8" long that I can stop drilling at the actual tube length and then cut off the closed end, and then mill the ends true.

If you do the above, I don't think you'll find any of the rest of the process will give you any trouble at all. And man, is the stuff pretty once it's polished up!
