True stone as inlay????

Has anyone ever tried to use the shavings from true stone as inlay with CA or epoxy?

I would like to try it but want to hear any wisdom that may have come from experience.

I would probably have to chop up the shavings a bit especially if I was inlaying something small like a pen or even a bottle stopper.

Any thoughts ?

I've used several varieties. They are usually lighter in color that the original Tru-stone.

I use 80 grt sand paper to sand down the corners, then i scrap up the dust and bottle it, find a flat surface to do it, i use a piece of glass, a bandsaw is also ok, wear a mask.
