I've made pens from Blanco Nero, Malachite and Lapis Lazuli, but these are my first from Turquoise and Bloody Jasper. Both were easy to turn and finish. Platinum on the first and copper on the second.

i really like how that trustone comes out, you've done a great job with them.

where do you get the trustone from? and is it a plastic like substance or what?

Andrew,
As far as I know, CSUSA is the only place that sells Tru Stone. Pedigree Wood lists it on their website, but I don't think those people will ever open for business. With the exception of the Lapis Lazuli, Tru Stone turns very nice. The Lapis is really hard. The stuff is actually made from pulverized stone and it isn't cheap, especially if you want to do a big pen like a full size Statesman.

I personally like the turquoise the best. Maybe it' because blue is my favorite color.

Do you have to color the tubes or anything with the tru stone?

Gerry,

GREAT choice on the hardware. Really sets off the "bloody Jasper". Of course, your turning is dead on, but we've grown to expect that.

Nice pens, go sell!!! (My new equivalent to npgj)[:D][:D]

Those are two certain winners!!! Are they Jr Gents or Barons? I have yet to make a Baron but they are similar kits if I'm not mistaken, right?

The big question I have is, if these are Jr Gents... is the accent on the rhodium the black epoxy accent? I thought they were gold accented--- did they change it?

I can't believe you didn't either! [;)]

Lol, but it did prompt me to take a closer look at the Baron (I have yet to make one, I've made lots of Jr gents). I did not realize the number of platings that Berea offers on that pen. I am particularly fond of the satin nickel, I'll have to try it out.

So there. Your goof, my good.

And in case I wasn't clear enough in my previous post,

SWEEEEET lookin' pens! I favor the turqouise myself.
